Baker's Hole Campground, Yellowstone Grand Prismatic

Hello Everyone,
I’m sitting here at the laundromat getting chores done so I figured it’d be a good time to catch up...We’ve been staying at the Baker’s Hole Campground on the Madison River in Montana which is just outside of the West Entrance to Yellowstone Park.  It is another lovely spot to say that is on the river with the Gallatin mountains in the distance.  We got here Monday afternoon and set up camp after driving through Yellowstone.  The Park is crazy busy with people; it’s certainly vacation time :)  Once we set up the camper we ate and went for a walk behind the campsite along the river.  It was a beautiful evening and we saw so many osprey circling overhead and in the treetops!! We actually got to see an osprey take a fish out of the river! There were also many warblers and songbirds around to enjoy watching and hearing.  There was also a family of young woodpeckers (flickers) that were entertaining us. These four sibling were comical to watch...
We went out the next morning to fish the Grayling Creek.  That was the famous spot where I caught my very large rainbow the first time here 4 years ago.  Unfortunately, there wasn’t much fishing going on but it was beautiful walking along the Creek and trying anyhow.  We had several hits but no fish..
Our friends Dave and Eileen came to our area yesterday and we met up with them in the afternoon to catch up.  After dinner we all once again took a walk along the river.  We saw a baby lincoln’s sparrow on the shore and he was adorable flitting around not quite sure what he was doing :)
We saw beautiful wildflowers including Yellowstone”s official flower Fringed Gentian.  The blue color is amazing...
Today Dave, Eileen and Ron went to Fan creek for a day hike.  I wasn’t up to doing that activity today so instead I decided to do chores and also to go into Yellowstone Park to check out Grand Prismatic Spring which is probably my favorite place to visit in the park, and for sure my favorite place to photograph :)  I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves....
It’s simply incredible that this whole area sits on a hot, thermal, boiling underground spring!
I am actually getting so used to driving Ron’s big truck around that it’s going to be an adjustment to getting back into my little Honda :)
We are leaving to head to Glacier National Park in the morning so I’ll catch up with everyone soon...
